so this was sweet and it had the whole holiday spirit thing going on (which I was looking for)。。。 but by the end it became so repetitive and boring :( and the ending was blah to me。 definitely not the worst thing I have ever read but I also was looking for more than I got if I am being honest。

Cw: dead parents, grief, tragic accidentOoo how lovely。 I'm a sucker for a grumpy sunshine story。 But with that added spice of grief。 Boy I love it。 I found myself tearing up over some of the descriptions of grief (and thank god the stages of grief were not mentioned) its hard celebrating the first holidays alone。 But I really appreciate that both Shane and Sophie are going to therapy, and the advice shown is genuine therapy advice。And yes a single parent romance, but very well done。 Sophie actu Cw: dead parents, grief, tragic accidentOoo how lovely。 I'm a sucker for a grumpy sunshine story。 But with that added spice of grief。 Boy I love it。 I found myself tearing up over some of the descriptions of grief (and thank god the stages of grief were not mentioned) its hard celebrating the first holidays alone。 But I really appreciate that both Shane and Sophie are going to therapy, and the advice shown is genuine therapy advice。And yes a single parent romance, but very well done。 Sophie actually has a personality and plays a very real part in the story。 And she's not perfect。 She has moments where she's sad, where she's grieving and even being a little brat。 It was very refreshing。 There were some points where I was starting to get frustrated at Shane because he had to be told MULTIPLE TIMES to stop being dumb and didn't really get it until the end。 And I feel like if he just talked to his therapist about it, then it could have been resolved very quickly。 。。。more

。Sweet and cute quick holiday read。 I loved the characters in this story line。 It was written with the perfect mix of feels and heat。

So this is a 2。5 ⭐️ for me。 The story itself wasn’t bad but I have certain expectations for Christmas books and this one didn’t cut it。 It had a decent amount of strong language and it was borderline raunchy。 Definitely an open door romance。 I also did not like Shane at all。 Or Olivia。 This book did not increase my Christmas spirit。

Jerica MacMillan is a new author to me and I had actually never heard of her before this book was randomly suggested for those who enjoy the grumpy/sunshine trope on a romance novel Facebook page。 I read several books with similar themes and styles, December of last year, so I immediately went and downloaded it。 I'm glad I did because I loved it!I love the grumpy/sunshine trope, especially when the grump stops being grumpy between 40 and 50% in。 I really don't like it when it lasts past that。 Th Jerica MacMillan is a new author to me and I had actually never heard of her before this book was randomly suggested for those who enjoy the grumpy/sunshine trope on a romance novel Facebook page。 I read several books with similar themes and styles, December of last year, so I immediately went and downloaded it。 I'm glad I did because I loved it!I love the grumpy/sunshine trope, especially when the grump stops being grumpy between 40 and 50% in。 I really don't like it when it lasts past that。 The hero, Shane, really did have good reason to be grumpy, so when he made some pretty foolish choices in the second half of the book, I gave him a little leeway。 I loved Sarah, the heroine。 Not only because we share a name, but she was such a great person。 She had a genuine love and affection for people in general。 Not just those in her inner circle, but for everyone she encounters。My only issue with the book was with how Sophie, Shane's 6-year-old sister, spoke sometimes。 I interact with an almost 6-year-old, as well as many other children around that age, every day, and they don't say things like, "you take over," when they're don't stirring the cookie dough。 They say, "you do it" or "can you do it?" Or they completely stop what they're doing with zero explanation。 She spoke too much like an adult and it made me think she was more like 9 or 10 instead of 6。 It just made me feel like the author hadbspent little to no time with small children。Aside from that, which was mostly easy to ignore, I really loved the book! There quite a bit of language, many uses of the f- word, though they seemed to be contained to specific scenes, verses a couple on every page, which I appreciated。 There are three sex scenes。 They are all medium in length and detailed。 All three scenes include handies, oral and penitration。 There's a lot of spicy chemistry and I enjoyed it all! I appreciated that they always used protection, though I would have liked to hear that the heroine was also on birth control。 I liked that the Christmas theme was very present in the story and that the conclusion happened on Christmas day, verses after (which seems to happen a lot)。 I definitely recommend this book! 。。。more

I enjoyed this one。 It got a little slow in the middle for me and that’s why I rated it 4 stars but overall I enjoyed the story and the characters! Sophie was the cutest addition and I really enjoyed Shane and Sarah’s characters and back stories! And I loved the spicy steam added to this Christmas story! Overall a cute story!

7。14 on CAWPILEI really enjoyed this Christmas romance。 It is a little darker than the cover would suggest, but I still had a lot of fun。 I got slightly frustrated by the lack of communication trope, but it made more sense in this one than usual, so it didn't bother me much。 It wasn't as spicy as some of the Christmas romances I've read (*cough* Window Shopping), but I enjoyed getting to know the characters in their relationships。 I highly recommend! 。。。more

Cute!Cute book just in time for Christmas! I loved Sarah and how much she cared about everyone else。 It was nice to see her get cared for in return。

Grumpy, then bright! This story was wonderful。 I didn’t feel that everything was automatically going to resolve well, and I couldn’t put it down。 That doesn’t often happen in a romance novel (for me, anyway)。 Ready to read more of Jerica’s work right away!

Jerica MacMillan has nailed the opposites attract / holiday romance tropes perfectly! Sophie is charming, precocious and everything a child her age should be。 The relationship between her and Shane is just beautiful and I found myself getting quite teary in some parts; for their obvious grief but also at the pure love between them。 Shane gave me heart flutters - I mean, a single ‘dad’ who has embraced his sudden parenthood by learning everything he possibly can to make the transition easier for the child … who is also charming (when he wants to be!), good looking and generally a nice guy?? Yes please! 💕Sarah is inspiring - her determination in the face of adversity and how she put up with mixed signals in the beginning deserves a medal! And her love of all things Christmas just makes my heart happy! Overall, this is an emotional holiday romance; with a great deal of steam and a couple that you can’t help but love and hope for。 。。。more

This was REALLY good!!! 4。5/5 stars, 🌶🌶/5 spice for me。 Some may find it spicer than that, though! What an amazing story about grief, a new life, and love。 I love Sophie and wish I could meet her。

Ofc the first KU christmas romance I pick up is fucking dead parents and dealing with their grief over it on the first christmas without them aHHHHHH。 Plus a lot of smut but okay。This was fine。 It was a good enough romance with lots of smut and attempts at being emotional over grief but little else to it。 It was supposed to be grumpy x sunshine but it really wasn't? It was just happy girl and commitment-phobe / grief riddled guy who is raising a 6 year old by himself。They don't do much besides b Ofc the first KU christmas romance I pick up is fucking dead parents and dealing with their grief over it on the first christmas without them aHHHHHH。 Plus a lot of smut but okay。This was fine。 It was a good enough romance with lots of smut and attempts at being emotional over grief but little else to it。 It was supposed to be grumpy x sunshine but it really wasn't? I wanted more from this book。- The hero wasn't nearly as grumpy as the synopsis made it sound。 Him being the grump is the reason I started it and it was over way too quickly。 He was a little bit grumpy at the start and then turned around out of the blue, making moves at heroine and without any indication he was into her, to be honest。 - His character in general was what I didn't like about this book, I think。 I honestly have no idea what our heroine liked about him。 What made her fall in love。 T I wanted more from this book。- The hero wasn't nearly as grumpy as the synopsis made it sound。 Him being the grump is the reason I started it and it was over way too quickly。 He was a little bit grumpy at the start and then turned around out of the blue, making moves at heroine and without any indication he was into her, to be honest。 - His character in general was what I didn't like about this book, I think。 I honestly have no idea what our heroine liked about him。 What made her fall in love。 They spent barely any time together alone and when they did, it was having sex。 The other way around I understand, Sarah was likable, even if a little too much sometimes。 But him。。。 I'm baffled。 - I don't like kids in books generally, so that was also a miss for me。 - Their names all beginning with S was another thing that annoyed me。 Was that really necessary? Three S names, all main characters? - And finally, I wanted more apologizing from the hero。 2,5 ⭐ rounded up because of the cute cover and because I love Christmas。 。。。more

Cute readJessica MacMillan is new to me Author and this read popped up on my newsreel on Facebook。 Went and checked it out on Amazon, seemed cute so one clicked。 This really was a cute, heart warming Christmas story。 Sarah is a true self and holds the spirit of Christmas in her heart and entire being。 Very obvious when she makes it her mission to make a little girl's Christmas a happy one after losing both her parents。 In the process she's managed to bring happiness to grumpy Shane。 Unfortunatel Cute readJessica MacMillan is new to me Author and this read popped up on my newsreel on Facebook。 Went and checked it out on Amazon, seemed cute so one clicked。 This really was a cute, heart warming Christmas story。 Sarah is a true self and holds the spirit of Christmas in her heart and entire being。 Very obvious when she makes it her mission to make a little girl's Christmas a happy one after losing both her parents。 In the process she's managed to bring happiness to grumpy Shane。 Unfortunately we have to wait until next November 2022 for Merry Kissmas to me to see what's up with Ty and Olivia if anything。 Not cool 。。。more

This was so sweet, and cozy, and definitely got me in the holiday spirit。 I love a grumpy sunshine where the grump is only grumpy because his parent died and now he is the guardian for his six year old sister and it’s hard。 And the sunshine is a Christmas elf who lives next door and is good at braids。 Neither have time for a relationship, so friends with benefits will surely work out splendidly。 Unfortunately, feelings ensue, and it gets complicated。 Christmas cookies, found and blood family, po This was so sweet, and cozy, and definitely got me in the holiday spirit。 I love a grumpy sunshine where the grump is only grumpy because his parent died and now he is the guardian for his six year old sister and it’s hard。 And the sunshine is a Christmas elf who lives next door and is good at braids。 Neither have time for a relationship, so friends with benefits will surely work out splendidly。 Unfortunately, feelings ensue, and it gets complicated。 Christmas cookies, found and blood family, popcorn on ice cream, and a heroine who designs ornaments in her free time all combine to make a lovely holiday romance I will probably want to read again next year。 。。。more

CuteThis is one of those books that I love to read when I’m feeling kind of sad and it cheers me right up。 It was a very cute and festive romance story, with some humor and a HEA。 I liked that it was Christmas themed and I will definitely be reading the next one when it comes out next year

This review has been hidden because it contains spoilers。 To view it, click here。 This was just fine。 I’m not sure there was anything major I didn’t like, but a bunch of small things kept me from really enjoying it fully。A pet peeve to start - why are all the main characters names so similar? I know it’s weird to say, but Shane and Sarah, then his sister Sophie…they just felt too similar and I kept double checking myself lol。 This could very much be a “me” problem。I thought this started strong and initially liked Sarah and Shane。 But somewhere around 50% this just fizzled out This was just fine。 I’m not sure there was anything major I didn’t like, but a bunch of small things kept me from really enjoying it fully。A pet peeve to start - why are all the main characters names so similar?
